MOJO’s live streaming feature makes it easier than ever to capture every moment and create the ultimate youth sports highlight reel.
But not all live streams are created equal.
Here are tips to make your live stream worth the watch:
Battery Life
- Optimize Battery Life: Close all unnecessary apps and dim your screen to save battery while streaming.
- Go the Extra Mile: Investing in an external battery pack can be a game-changer. You’ll never miss a moment due to a drained battery.
Filming
- Steady Does It: For smoother footage, consider using a tripod or stabilizing gimbal. If going handheld, keep your elbows tucked into your sides to reduce shake. All of MOJO’s live streams will require you to shoot in landscape.
- Mind the Light: For best results, position yourself with the sun behind you, so it lights up the players without causing glare on the camera.
- Zoom Wisely: Digital zoom can reduce video quality. Get closer physically instead of zooming in, if possible.
- Do Not Disturb: Consider setting your phone to do not disturb as calls and texts can interrupt the stream for viewers.
Connectivity
- Stable Internet: A strong internet connection ensures a smooth stream. Consider using a mobile hotspot if you’re in an area with patchy connectivity. Check if the field or complex has available WiFi.
- Reduce Resolution: Patchy or slow connection? Consider reducing the stream quality to ensure viewers are getting every moment.
- Trial Run: Test your stream a few minutes before the game to check both video and audio quality.
Audio
- Mind the Wind: A breezy day can interfere with your audio. Consider using an external microphone with a windscreen or simply position yourself in a less windy spot.
- Narrate Thoughtfully: If you’re adding commentary, remember other viewers can hear. Keep it supportive and positive! If you don’t audio, make sure to mute the audio feed from the stream.
